Martha is the widow and former caregiver for her husband, Stephan, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal degeneration in July 2016 and ALS in February 2018. She is passionate about advocating for caregivers and training others in how to support caregivers.

Martha lives in Paris, Texas. She has two grown children, Brandon and Leia, and five grandchildren. Martha has her doctorate in Worship Studies and holds emeritus status with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as a Director of Paris Music. She is also a Certified Caregiving Specialist.
